The Dental Council will be holding a ballot to elect seven dentists to the Dental Council for the 2025 to 2030 term of office. Thirteen dentists were nominated to stand in the elections and these are:

- Dr Patrick Cleary, Dublin
- Dr Niamh Coffey, Cork
- Dr Kirsten Fitzgerald, Dublin
- Dr Sarah Jane Grufferty, Dublin
- Dr Gerry Kearns, Dublin
- Dr Paul Leavy, Co Kildare
- Dr Philip Mulholland, Co Cavan
- Dr Carmel O’Brien, Co Galway
- Dr Anne O’Donnell, Co Wexford
- Dr Annette O’Donovan, Limerick
- Dr Isabel Olegário da Costa, Dublin
- Dr Enda Whelan, Co Laois
Ballot papers will be posted to all registered dentists by 3 October 2025. We will publish short biographies of each candidate on our website in early October.
The following people were deemed elected without a ballot to the Auxiliary Dental Workers Committee as they were the only nominees:
- Ms Wenda Thomas (dental hygienist)
- Mr Philip McGrath (clinical dental technician)
