Former Dental Council President Dr Joseph Lemasney
The Dental Council note with deep regret and sadness the passing of Dr Joseph Lemasney, a former president of the Dental Council (2000-03).
Dr Lemasney was a distinguished member of the profession making significant contributions across Irish dentistry, particularly in the public dental health service, including serving as President of the Health Board Dental Surgeons group. He also served as President of the Irish Dental Association (1983). Dr Lemasney enjoyed a distinguished international representative career serving as a past president of the European section of the International College of Dentists culminating in achieving for extraordinarily conspicuous and outstanding service the honour of Master Fellowship and recently that of Honorary Life membership. He is pre-deceased by his wife and former registrant Dr Ethna Lemasney.
The Dental Council extends its sympathies and condolences to Barry, Niall, Paula (all of whom are registrants) and David.
